The Senior Peer Program offers several support groups and classes for both men and women that provide a safe non-judgmental atmosphere where members can share their feelings and coping strategies with those going through similar experiences.

The goals of these confidential, peer-facilitated support groups are: promote fellowship and lessen the feeling of isolation; give support and encouragement to others; work through negative emotions; strengthen self-esteem; and educate, inform, exchange ideas and resources.

Support groups are facilitated by and consisting of peers, persons age 60 and beyond and are a free and confidential service of the Senior Peer Program.

At Last! A Class for Those of Us Who Have Always Been Told, “You’re Too Sensitive!” Did you know that 15-20% of the population has a personality trait known as Sensory Processing Sensitivity and that much research has been done to understand it? The results are fascinating! If you’ve often felt “different” because you feel your emotions deeply, think and process things thoroughly, notice details and subtleties easily, and are highly empathetic towards others, you may be the approximately one in five men or women in our population who have a highly tuned nervous system that characterizes this trait. Come and learn what a gift you have and meet other seniors who have it too! We will also share helpful strategies we can use to flourish and thrive in what may sometimes feel like a less than sensitive world. Class Dates: Fridays, September 20th, 27th, and October 4th ~ Time: 9:30-11:00 To Register, please call 928-445-5211, ext. 2601

For more information and to register for one of the above confidential support groups or classes, call 928 445-5211, ext. 2605 or ext. 2672.
